Her Story

After a long career (22 + years) in law enforcement — including serving as Henderson’s police chief — Chadwick says she wants to bring truth, trust and transparency to City Hall. She believes that residents deserve honest leadership and that the city needs open communication and clear decision-making from its leaders rather than politics behind closed doors.

Early Life & Education

Hollie Chadwick was raised in Las Vegas and attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she earned bachelor’s degrees in Athletic Training and Sports and Fitness Management, along with a master’s degree in Kinesiology. She was a member of the nationally ranked UNLV Softball team from 1990–1994 and participated in four Division Regional Championships and the College World Series in 1991.

After the events of September 11, 2001, Hollie felt called to dedicate her life to public service and pursue a career devoted to protecting and serving her community.

While serving in law enforcement, Hollie continued her education and earned her Doctorate in Public Administration from Capella University in 2019, graduating with Distinction.

A Career of Service

In August 2002, Hollie joined the Henderson Police Department, beginning more than 22 years of service to the community. Over the course of her career, she rose through the ranks and was appointed Chief of Police in May 2023. She retired in March 2025 after a distinguished career in law enforcement.

As a police officer, Hollie served as an officer-in-charge, a field training officer, a crisis negotiator, a bicycle officer, a drug recognition expert, a defensive tactics instructor, and a police dog decoy. She also served as a detective working fraud, property, repeat offender, and intelligence cases, and spent two years on a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) task force.

Leadership and Command Roles

Hollie was promoted to sergeant in 2011 and served in patrol, as a member of the Crisis Negotiation Team, and supervised the Problem-Solving Unit. She was a Field Training Sergeant and was promoted to lieutenant in 2015. As a lieutenant, Hollie oversaw swing shift patrol operations, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), K9 unit, and ARMOR unit. Hollie was the first female commander to oversee a SWAT team in Nevada.

“I chose public service because of the events of 9/11 and how they impacted me. My desire to serve has never been about power; it has been about responsibility. When your community gives you its trust, you owe it courage, honesty, and hard work.”
— Hollie Chadwick

Hollie was promoted to Captain in July 2019 and assigned to the East Area Command Patrol Division overseeing Patrol Operations, Problem-Solving Unit, Bicycle Unit, and department manning. In August 2022 she was assigned to the Operation Support Division overseeing the Traffic Unit, SWAT, K9, ARMOR Units, and Homeland Security.
